Our Story

What began as a one-person operation with a second-hand mower and a genuine love for the outdoors has grown into one of Leeds most trusted garden care providers. Founded in 2009, willow-tern emerged from a simple belief: that every garden, regardless of size, deserves professional attention and care.

Over the years, we have cultivated relationships with hundreds of homeowners across Leeds, from Roundhay to Headingley, Chapel Allerton to Horsforth. Each garden teaches us something new, and that continuous learning drives our approach to this day.

Today our team includes qualified horticulturists, experienced landscapers and dedicated maintenance specialists. But we have never lost sight of those founding principles: quality work, honest pricing and treating every garden as if it were our own.

What Guides Us

These core values shape how we work and the relationships we build with our clients.

🌱

Environmental Responsibility

We prioritise sustainable practices, from electric equipment where practical to organic treatments and wildlife-friendly gardening methods. Your garden should be part of the solution, not the problem.

🤝

Honest Communication

No hidden fees, no unnecessary upselling. We provide clear quotes, explain our recommendations and always respect your budget and preferences. If something is not needed, we will tell you.

✨

Consistent Quality

Whether its your first appointment or your fiftieth, you will receive the same attention to detail. We take pride in delivering results that make a visible difference every single visit.

Local Knowledge Matters

Leeds presents its own gardening challenges. Heavy clay soils in some areas, the effects of altitude in others, and a climate that can swing from frost to warmth within the same week. Generic advice does not cut it here.

Our team understands which plants thrive in Leeds conditions, when to schedule treatments for maximum effect, and how to work with rather than against the local environment. This knowledge comes from years of hands-on experience in gardens just like yours.

  • Deep understanding of Yorkshire soil types
  • Timing recommendations for the local climate
  • Plant selection suited to Leeds conditions
  • Knowledge of local regulations and protected species
